Jessica + Ethan’s Spring Garden Wedding

“Our wedding was the greatest day of our lives with all our family and friends around in one place to celebrate our love.”
– Jessica, bride

An Elegant Blue And Gray Wedding With Personalized Touches

Jessica and Ethan both work in sales and met in the Atlanta airport while traveling on business. While Jessica admits it took her a bit longer to know that Ethan was the one for her, he says he knew she was it the moment she walked by him in the airport.

Fast forward to wedding planning, and in the midst of a global pandemic, Jessica said they wanted to keep everything in perspective. “We wanted it to be a great day that was low stress for us and our family and friends. It was important that the little things didn’t eclipse how important this step was to us and saying our vows in front of our family and friends.”

They chose a classic navy and gray color palette with pops of dusty rose to add an element of fun to their holiday weekend wedding.

The First Look

The couple got ready at the Harpeth Hotel before making their way to CJ’s Off the Square to say “I do.” The bride wore a chiffon, A-line beaded gown from Justin Alexander, with a long, lace embroidered veil. The couple chose a small bridal party of their closest friends. This group included their adorable dog Pippa, who got ready alongside Jessica and her maids! The bridesmaids wore unique, yet coordinating blue dresses. And as for the men, Ethan wore a deep blue tuxedo with black lapels and his men in a classic black tux.

The Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

The couple exchanged vows on a beautiful May day in the lush gardens at CJ’s Off the Square. It was a family affair with Pippa as their flower pup escorted by Jessica’s brother, her official handler. Jessica had both her father and step-father walk her down the aisle in front of their family and friends, most of which traveled to celebrate the happy couple!

“We chose CJ’s Off the Square because of its intimate feel and charm. All of our family traveled to our wedding and we wanted a place that felt like home. Being outside during a pandemic was a major plus,” said Jessica.

The Garden Wedding Reception

After the vows, the couple enjoyed an outdoor reception under our pavilion. The spring color palette featured a mix of white, gray, navy blue and dusty rose. For their place settings, the couple, along with their planner Sidney, selected soft gray linens, navy blue velvet napkins, and glass mosaic plates for dinner and dessert.

The tables were tied together with mixed greenery and floral arrangements from Cali Roots Designs including pops of blue, white and dusty rose. The guests enjoyed custom cocktails which played on where Jessica and Ethan grew up! For her: a Cosmopolitan Martini, “The Hartsfield – Jackson,” and for him: an Old Fashioned, “The Maine Connection.”

Their advice for couples in the wedding planning phase is simply this; “There are so many decisions it’s overwhelming. Do yourself a favor and research, go with your gut choice and move on. Also, do not let the stress of the day stop you from living in the moment and enjoying it. It goes by so fast!”

Ethan surprised his bride with a vintage getaway car from Matchless Transportation. They snapped some photos after their ceremony and left their reception in style. The photos say it all!
