Katey + Jason’s Modern Summer Garden Wedding
When Katey and Jason got engaged, they had a specific vision for their wedding day. They wanted their garden wedding to feel like a small, intimate gathering with elevated, romantic touches. Together with planner Allison Adams, their vision came together through bold florals, minimalistic decor, and formal place settings.
They knew they wanted a summer ceremony so they could take full advantage of the venue’s gardens. “When my fiancé and I first stepped into the pavilion and garden setting of CJ’s Off the Square, we immediately knew that this was exactly where we wanted to get married! The Simple & Chic Purple Wedding Details
The First Look
The couple chose to do a first look in the romantic gardens. Katey stunned her groom in an Essence of Australia wedding gown with all-over lace, a V-neckline, and a dramatic train. Classy drop earrings and a sparkly hair accessory completed her look, along with a stunning bouquet from The Enchanted Florist of bold roses and florals in magenta, purple, and pink. Jason wore a Calvin Klein suit and tie.
The Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
It was clear from the moment Allison met Katey and Jason that family is very important to them both. The couple emphasized including their family in the big moments. In addition to sharing a “first-look”, her dad walked her down the aisle. Their bridal party was composed of Katey’s sister, who wore a deep purple dress from Bill Levkoff, and Jason’s two daughters, who wore lavender gowns from Bella Bridesmaids.
“Our friends and family shared in our sentiment saying how perfect everything was, and it was summed up best by a friend calling it a “fairytale wedding,” said Katey.
One of the selling points for the couple when it came to picking a venue was CJ’s Off The Square’s unique planning process. Having a planner in their package was a big deal to Jason, Katey, and her parents, since they live out of state and couldn’t be here for planning meetings. The first look with dad was just another way to include him in the wedding day that felt special for both of them.
“CJ’s Off the Square has the wedding planning process figured out to a T. Our wedding planner, Allison, was so wonderful to work with. She got to know us and our style immediately, and after each meeting, we left saying how fun and exciting the process was,” said Katey.
The Garden Wedding Reception
The couple’s summer garden reception featured a neutral color palette of whites, creams, and golds, with pops of pink and purple, the perfect option for a late summer affair. Guests were greeted by a champagne wall, covered in greenery and more incredible fresh blooms from The Enchanted Florist. Place settings and menus were minimal to create a clean and chic feel.
The bride and groom sat at their own sweetheart table, while guests were seated at a mixture of rectangular and round tables with cross-back chairs, champagne-colored linens, and a single amnesia rose. Katey and Jason shared their first dance as a married couple under a floral-adorned chandelier.
