Moody Fall Garden Wedding with Black Wedding Cake, Pumpkins, Leaves & Teal Accents | October 26

“CJ and her team are absolutely fantastic. You can tell everyone is just as invested as you are in making your event special.” – Phil, Groom
Amanda and Phil’s October wedding at CJ’s Off the Square was the perfect blend of moody fall romance and playful seasonal details. Their garden celebration featured velvet textures, deep jewel tones, and whimsical touches like pumpkins and candlelight. Every detail was carefully curated to reflect their unique style without feeling too theme-y.
Autumn Style with a Moody Twist
Amanda’s favorite color is black, and she wanted it to play a major role in the overall look. However, to avoid a Halloween feel, we layered in warm tones like burnt orange, golden yellow, and rich teal. As a result, the palette was bold and balanced, while still feeling moody and romantic.
Sunset Garden Ceremony
Amanda and Phil exchanged vows just before sunset in our garden. They were surrounded by lush florals from Flower Girls Floral Design. Additionally, a close family friend officiated the ceremony, adding a personal and heartfelt touch. Amanda wore a romantic Rebecca Ingram gown. Meanwhile, her bridesmaids wore deep “Dark Berry” velvet gowns by Jenny Yoo that beautifully echoed the fall color palette. With the ceremony beginning just before sunset, the light cast a golden glow on the couple as they said “I do.” A close family friend officiated the ceremony, making the moment even more meaningful.
“My wife and I are rather neurotic people who would worry and over-think anything at every possible opportunity; if we had to do the wedding planning ourselves, we would probably have a nervous breakdown somewhere in the process. However, the support offered by CJ’s has been unparallel in everything from suggesting and getting us in touch with our vendors, to plenty of meet-ups to discuss the wedding schedule and layout, to the perfect execution of everything on the wedding day itself.” – Phil
A Cozy, Candlelit Reception
After the ceremony, guests were welcomed into the pavilion for a lively reception that felt like a stylish autumn dinner party. Pumpkin accents, moody floral centerpieces by Flower Girls Floral Design, and soft velvet linens created an intimate atmosphere that felt both whimsical and elegant.
Amanda and Phil had a vision for a black wedding cake—and it worked. With orange and yellow blooms climbing the tiers, the cake was a standout feature of the evening. Inside the pavilion, glowing candlelight and velvet linens created a cozy, elevated setting. Furthermore, custom signage tied everything together seamlessly.
Food and music were top priorities for the couple. Therefore, guests enjoyed a lively dinner followed by hours of dancing under the stars. Amanda and Phil even carved out a few quiet moments alone to soak in their special day.
“Even before our wedding, we knew it was going to be a good time, and we were still blown away by how great the actual wedding day was. I don’t think you can do much better than CJ’s when it comes to where you can have your wedding or any other special occasion.” – Phil
A Joyful Celebration to Remember
Guests came from near and far—including all the way from China to celebrate Amanda and Phil. Thanks to help from their planner and a trusted vendor team, their day was stylish, heartfelt, and full of fun.
