A Classic, Spring Wedding With A Neutral Color Palette | April 22
Kathryn & Alex’s Timeless Sage Green Garden Wedding

A Neutral April Wedding With Classic Elements
A classic, Southern wedding in neutral tones is something you can look back on for years to come without fear of it feeling dated. That’s exactly what Kathryn and Alex wanted for their April wedding. Their number one priority was giving their guests a unique experience while still keeping the aesthetics timeless.
A springtime wedding in Tennessee called for shades of white, ivory, taupe, and barely pink. This soft color palette, paired with stunning sage green, came together seamlessly as the backdrop for the couple’s day. Along with CJ’s Off the Square planner Brette Craig, Kathryn and Alex pulled off a romantic garden wedding that guests loved.
“CJs was the perfect place for our wedding in April! We received so many compliments from family and friends about the venue, food, and music,” says Kathryn.
The couple described their style as “laid back,” “simple,” and “classic,” opting for romantic string lights, rustic farm tables, and white blooms. With just 80 guests, the wedding was intimate and relaxed. The ceremony took place in the lush, green gardens. Along with their bridal party, the couple stood in front of a modern, round gold arbor to say their “I Do’s”.
Continuing their wedding colors, the bridesmaids wore sage green dresses in a variety of necklines. The groom and his men wore quintessential navy suits with navy bowties.
Everything about Kathryn’s wedding dress fit their magical garden nuptials. The sleeveless gown features a plunging neckline with a low V-line back, covered in delicate lace. The A-line, whimsical tulle skirt featured tiers and floral appliqués that moved in the wind.
Under the pavilion, guests were greeted by a stunning sea of round dining and cocktail tables, covered in ivory poly linens. The head table, for the bridal party, was a long, rectangular farm table, covered in similar linens, featuring a greenery runner. For flowers, the couple selected white and cream garden roses and ranunculus with seeded eucalyptus.
Each guest table mimics the runner with similar, simple greenery and floating and votive candles. For a rustic contrast, the couple selected fruitwood folding chairs. The table was set with gold Athena plates, Austin gold flatware, sage green napkins, green water goblets, pure stemware, and Upton rocks glasses.
Inside, Kathryn and Alex’s minimalist cake sat on a gold cake stand on a simple round table. The three-tier modern white cake was adorned with matching flower arrangements and greenery.
“Everything was planned out so well by Brette, that on the day of the wedding, I had never felt so calm and stress-free (looking back it’s weird how calm I was). We feel very lucky that we were able to get married in such a beautiful, special venue,” says Kathryn.
