Angela & Justis’ May Garden Wedding Featuring Earth Tones
“If you’re looking for a garden wedding, I would highly recommend CJ’s!” –Angela (bride)
A Woodsy Garden Wedding With Sage Green Touches
Spring weddings can offer a unique opportunity to play with color, but that doesn’t mean you have to soak your wedding day in bright pinks or bold blues. There are plenty of softer color palettes that feel delicate and purposeful, and root your day in nature. Angela and Justis wanted to harness the beauty of Tennessee in springtime through delicate florals and romantic lighting.
The couple got ready for the day at the venue, spending time with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, as well as their dog Yeti. He was dressed for the occasion in the world’s most adorable dog suit. Feeling relaxed the morning of the wedding was important to the couple, something they thank planner Sidney Darby for.
”Sidney at CJ’s was wonderful in supporting us for our wedding day. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful but their team really brought it together for us. I was not the most organized bride and still our day was so magical and I give a lot of that credit to Sidney and the team at CJ’s. If you’re looking for a garden wedding I would highly recommend CJ’s!”
Ahead of their ceremony, the couple shared an intimate first look in the lush gardens. Justis wore a forest green suit with a champagne tie that played to the whimsical and earthy tone of the wedding. Angela wore a tulle A-line gown that featured a sweetheart neckline and delicate off-the-shoulder sleeves. Her dress was decorated with floral appliqués that mirrored her shimmery head piece. Her look with complete with a dramatic long, yet simple veil.
The couple’s reception was held under the pavilion and featured lot of fresh greenery and personal touches at every turn. A long head table was the main focal point, composed of a rustic farm table and an Ivory Sahara Runner. The round guest tables were covered in champagne linens. Each table was adorned with gold-rim chargers, Athena gold-rimmed dinner plates, and Hamlet gold-patterned dessert China. Modern Austin gold flatware and fern velvet napkins created an organic elegance the couple loved. Guests enjoyed beverages from Cybil glassware, which was embellished with personalized acrylic drink tags featuring the couple’s initials. Harlin chairs were the perfect choice to complete the look — offering a touch that was classic yet rustic.
Throughout the venue, lighting played a major role in the decor. A custom neon sign with the couple’s new last name was fixed to the greenery wall offering the perfect place for guests to snap pictures from the evening. Above the head table was a unique light fixture from Nashville Event Lighting. The Taylor Edison lights hung down at varying lengths, visually framing the bridal party and their table. As the sun set, the warm glow of the lights set a romantic garden vibe that couple hoped to achieve. Additionally, the CJ’s Edison Bulb Chandelier in the center of the pavilion and modern fluted candles with mercury glass candle votives were both practical and a welcomed cozy decor accent.
The mood of the wedding was cemented in the floral arrangements. The tables matched the bride’s bouquet of mixed greenery, Queen Anne’s Lace, burgundy astilbe, bunny-tail grass, wild double daisy, roses and ranunculus. Her bridesmaids’ bouquets followed suit in smaller sizes. The delicate pops of peach, white, honey, and rose against the calming greens of the ruscus and eucalyptus created an undeniable springtime aesthetic that was modern, playful, and ethereal.
To end the night and pay homage to their music industry careers, the couple left their wedding in Waylon Jennings’s vintage limousine — the ultimate cool factor.
