A Late Summer Garden Wedding With Peach And Pink Accents | September 4
Liz + Connor’s Summer Garden Wedding
“We chose CJ’s Off the Square because so many different services were included with the space.” – Liz, bride
A Romantic Outdoor Wedding
Featuring Soft Neutrals
Liz and Connor’s Nashville love story began at Vanderbilt’s registered nurse residency orientation. They were good friends for a year or so before they started dating, but Liz says she remembers the exact moment she knew she was going to marry Connor.
“During a trip, we took to the aquarium in Chattanooga the summer after we started dating, I found myself picturing the rest of our lives together.” Connor proposed at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville, completely surprising Liz.
When it came to wedding plans, Liz admits she was a bit overwhelmed by all the decisions. “Connor didn’t have an opinion about most of the wedding details. He just wanted to show up the day of the wedding!”
But she notes that CJ’s Off The Square’s all-inclusive wedding packages made it much easier.
“We chose CJ’s for a number of reasons but primarily, we found that it was the most cost-effective as a venue since so many different services were included with the space (i.e. the caterer, the wedding planner, the DJ, the wedding cake, etc.)
The Bridal Party
Together with CJ’s Off The Square Planner Allison Adams, the couple selected elegant neutral colors including cream, champagne, and light pink, with pops of peach and coral. The gazebo, tables, and chairs were decorated with floral arrangements from The Enchanted Florist.
Liz recalls seeing her vision come to life for the first time. “I vividly remember walking out onto the patio after our hair and makeup were done and seeing how amazing the patio and garden looked, with the lights up and the tables set; it was like a dream, everything looked so perfect.”
When it was time to see her groom, Liz blew him away in a satin, fit-and-flare gown with off-the-shoulder straps and buttons all the way down the back. She accessorized with a sparkly belt and Badgley Mischka heels. Connor wore a gray suit from Joseph A Banks and personalized socks featuring their dog’s face. The bridal party wore long, champagne gowns and gray suits with matching ties.
The Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
The couple exchanged vows in front of about 100 guests on a September evening at sunset. The garden was decorated with string lights to give the whole outdoor ceremony an elegant yet intimate feel.
“The whole morning felt so surreal like I couldn’t believe we were actually getting married, and the time just flew by, so when my husband was saying his vows to me it finally felt real and was also such a relief. I knew that we could relax and enjoy the rest of the day.”
Their favorite part of the day was right after the ceremony. Connor, Liz, and her daughter, Harper took a few minutes to celebrate their new family in private, before kicking off the party with their closest friends and family.
As a busy bride, Liz’s advice for other brides is to focus on preparing for your marriage and know that everything else will fall in place. She also says that having an organized planner made a world of a difference. “I most enjoyed working with Allison, she was so helpful and organized and I can’t imagine how I could’ve gotten anything done without her! It makes the planning process much less stressful.
The Garden Wedding Reception
The open-air reception spilled out from the pavilion into the gardens where guests could enjoy the perfect weather and their drinks in different seating areas. They wanted every detail of the wedding day to match their personalities, featuring signature cocktail drinks at the full-service bar, as well as personalized koozies with their names, wedding date, and the cutest sketch of their dog.
When it came time to cut the cake, Liz and Connor cut into a beautifully decorated all-white cake from Baked In Nashville with floral accents. Connor had a groom’s cake made featuring his favorite beer and their dog.
For dinner, the couple chose a combination of farmhouse tables and classic round tables with ivory linens. The simplistic yet romantic decorations included a table runner, florals, and floating candles. After a quick change, Liz wowed her guests in a second gown that gave her the freedom to boogie all night. She even recalls waking up with sore feet the next day.
From the light and airy color palette to the epic dance party, the couple says they couldn’t have asked for a better experience. “They made my dream wedding a reality,” says Liz.
