Janet & Bobby’s Whimsical Outdoor Wedding In Fun Shades of Blue, Blush, & Burgundy
When we first met Janet & Bobby, we knew their wedding would be a ton of fun. It wasn’t easy for two busy doctors to get married during a pandemic, especially when that requires a date change. But together, we were able to rework thier plans to create not one, but two special days for them to help bring thier revised wedding plans to life here at CJ’s Off the Square.
Thier original April wedding date had special meaning for Janet and Bobby. So we worked with them to have a private ceremony in the garden and then rescheduled the larger celebration in August. In the end, this unexpected change actually made their whole wedding experience that much more special.
Med School Sweethearts
Janet & Bobby met their first year of med school and immediately became best friends. Their relationship blossomed and they knew it was something special during a camping trip. Janet remembers, “The stars started to come out and then hundreds of fireflies lit up the woods and just started dancing around the campsite. It was like something out of a fairy tale movie, and I knew that it was a magical moment with the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
Their relationship jumped to the next level when they took a romantic vacation for Valentine’s Day. Bobby set up an elaborate plan and the rest was history!
“I led her out to a veranda with a beautiful view of the mountains. There was a photographer there taking pictures of the view, and Janet suggested that we move out of her way, but then I took her by the hands, got down on one knee, and proposed. She was so shocked that she forgot to say yes (obviously she accepted though)! And I had hired the photographer to capture the moment and do an engagement photo session afterwards!”
Getting Ready
Janet stunned in her lace trumpet gown and blush Badgley Mischka heels. The bridal party had a blast being pampered in the downstairs parlor before heading up to the bridal suite to get dressed in their whimsical blue dresses. Next up was the first look!
The First Look
The nerves were just as real before thier second ceremony as Janet approached Bobby for their official first look. You could really feel their emotions and excitement for everything the future holds for them. And we are pretty sure they were super excited to finally be able to celebrate thier marriage with thier closest family and friends.

Talk about chemistry! Wow, this pair is stunning together, aren’t they?!
The Whimsical Details
Because the pandemic required a date change, Janet & Bobby sent out these unique “Save The New Date” cards to their guests.
The joy was felt through every detail of this whimsical and romantic wedding – from fun bright colors to masks with the bride and groom’s faces on them. The florals from The Enchanted Florist could not have been more beautiful, and we are still obsessed with their champagne wall! Because it was a warm summer day, we made this feature do double duty …with refreshing fruit-infused water as guests arrived, switching to champagne during the cocktail hour. Win win!
Despite the changes we had to make to the original plans, Janet & Bobby’s wedding truly came together so beautifully and really captured the couple’s fun energy.

“Right when we started our first dance we realized that everyone was wearing face masks that had the bottom half of our faces on them, and I am pretty sure we were crying laughing!”
Bobby’s favorite movie of all time is Hitch, so clearly they had to make a big entrance with the dance and song from the end of the movie.
This wedding was truly one to remember!
