Mackenzie & Kody’s fairytale celebration at CJ’s Off the Square

On May 18th, Mackenzie and Kody gathered family and friends from Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee for a spring celebration. It was equal parts romantic fairytale and lively party. With planning and design by Sidney Young of CJ’s Off the Square, their day was filled with abundant florals, glowing candlelight, and joyful energy that carried well into the night.

A Love Story Rooted in Shared Heart for Service

Mackenzie, originally from Michigan, moved to Nashville three years ago to pursue her nursing career at Vanderbilt. Now a traveling nurse, she embraces the flexibility and adventure her work brings. Kody, from McMinnville, is proudly serving in the military and had recently returned from active duty. Their wedding was more than a union—it was a heartfelt reunion before he departed again for service later in the summer.

A Fairytale Garden Ceremony

Inspired in part by the lush, romantic world of Bridgerton, Mackenzie envisioned an English garden design that felt whimsical and timeless. Blume & Willow brought that vision to life with aisle markers bursting with pinks, lavenders, and blues. A towering broken arch framed the couple as they exchanged vows. The open-air garden at CJ’s Off the Square provided the perfect setting, blending Southern charm with the feeling of an enchanted secret garden.

Dining & Décor Details

Inside the pavilion, the reception featured a stunning head table filled with pastel flowers and a European inspired place setting. Candles, especially delicate pastel tapers, added a warm glow to the floral arrangements. This created the dreamlike atmosphere Mackenzie had hoped for. The overall effect was whimsical, romantic, and undeniably springtime.

A Reception to Remember

If the ceremony was a fairytale, the reception was a full-on celebration. For Mackenzie and Kody, music and dancing were top priorities. Premiere, the Entertainment Company, kept the energy high all night as DJ and MC. Guests filled the dance floor, honoring the couple’s wish for a wedding that felt like an unforgettable party.
