A Dreamy Downtown Franklin Wedding | May 27
Shannon & Coy’s Enchanting Spring Wedding
at St. Philip Catholic Church and CJ’s Off the Square
“We could not have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding! Not only is CJ’s Off the Square beautiful, the location can’t be beat.” – Shannon
A Picture-Perfect Setting
Spring weddings have a charm of their own, and CJ’s Off the Square is a beautiful place to experience the season. Located in the heart of downtown Franklin, our venue boasts a vibrant garden that truly comes alive during spring. Shannon & Coy’s choice of a late May wedding took full advantage of the seasonal beauty!
Shannon and Coy, like many CJ’s couples, love our central location in historic downtown Franklin. Their wedding ceremony was held at St. Philip Catholic Church on Main Street. Guests could then walk to the reception held at CJ’s Off the Square only a couple of blocks down the street.
For out-of-state guests from places like Arizona, Kentucky, and Illinois, the convenience of having the ceremony and reception venues so close together in downtown Franklin made their experience much more enjoyable.
A Planner’s Touch: Seamless Celebrations at CJ’s Off the Square
In today’s fast-paced world, busy professional couples like Shannon and Coy often find themselves juggling countless tasks. But when it came to their wedding day, they knew they needed help.
“My husband and I have very busy schedules. The built in planning is what sealed the deal for us.” – Shannon
Every wedding package at CJ’s Off the Square includes the expertise of a dedicated wedding planner. The immense value of this cannot be overstated. It means personalized assistance, meticulous attention-to-detail, and a stress-free journey to “Yes!” to “I Do!” From coordinating with vendors to ensuring every place setting is perfect, our in-house planners make dream weddings a reality.
“Our planner, Sidney, was the greatest! She made wedding planning stress free and easy and went above and beyond. We couldn’t have done it without her.” – Shannon
Getting Ready
Shannon and her ladies got ready at CJ’s Off the Square in the upstairs dressing rooms with wedding party and bridal portraits taking place in the garden. Once our bride was in her stunning gown by Allure, she shared a touching first look with her dad in our main hallway — a memory they will both cherish forever.
The groomsmen, dressed to the nines in tuxedos with sage bowties, played blackjack in the wine cellar until it was time for them to join the wedding party in the garden for pictures.
Making Memories in Downtown Franklin
The St. Philip’s atrium welcomed guests before the ceremony with a magnificent broken arch adorned with white roses, hydrangea, and other elegant blooms. Post-ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a leisurely walk from the church to CJ’s Off the Square.
What’s more romantic than taking wedding portraits while walking the streets of downtown Franklin? Every step the couple took between the church and CJ’s Off the Square was filled with joy. This picturesque journey will be a lifelong reminder of the day they vowed to be together forever, in a town that will always have a piece of their heart.
Elegance in Every Detail
Shannon’s bridal squad exuded grace in their sage green gowns, complimenting the groomsmen’s tuxedos and matching bowties.
The floral arrangements, from the bride’s bouquet to the ceremony arch, were a symphony of white roses, quicksand roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, veronica, and eucalyptus.
“I would describe my wedding style as romantic chic. I love lots of flowers, lights and candles.” – Shannon
Their reception was a masterclass in elegance: gold chiavari chairs, ivory satin linens, blush napkins, and golden table details creating a luxurious ambiance. The soft and gentle spring color palette of white, ivory, sage green, and blush pink blended seamlessly with the garden’s natural hues.
A Reception to Remember
As the sun set and stars adorned the night, Shannon and Coy’s wedding reception was nothing short of magical. After dinner, the couple cut the cake on their way to a packed dance floor that was on fire all night. The cake from Baked in Nashville, featured both strawberry with vanilla buttercream and our signature Raspberry Lemonade flavor.
And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any more perfect, planner Sidney had a romantic finale in store — a private last dance for Shannon and Coy on the pond terrace. Their day culminated in a fairytale exit: a sparkler-lit pathway leading them to a vintage blue Jaguar by Matchless Transportation.
