McKenna & Tom’s Laid Back Summer Garden Party Wedding in Burgundy, Blue, and Champagne
McKenna and Tom had a dream of a relaxed, nontraditional garden party for their big day. Never big on blooms, McKenna opted to use only greenery and candles for her decor and friends, it looked GORGEOUS! We love how her ladies carried lanterns rather than bouquets …so pretty AND they served double duty as centerpieces after the ceremony. The groomsmen wore succulent boutonnieres and greenery accented every nook of the day for a truly bohemian chic wedding.
Getting Ready
Who says your wedding dress has to be white? According to Junebug Weddings, not wearing white is one of the top 5 wedding trends for next year. So McKenna was ahead of her time with this stunning gold lace gown from David’s Bridal. The ladies ordered a round of cucumber mojitos to toast in the bridal suite just before walking down the aisle. Raising a glass with your girls is a wedding trend that we can totally get behind!
The Wedding Party
McKenna stunned in her golden gown while Tom rocked a royal blue suit with subtle plaid detailing. The bridesmaids only carried flowers through the print of their gown, and the groomsmen ditched the jackets for a more relaxed look. This wedding was comprised of fun and threw tradition to the wind.
The Details
Simple greenery accents and lace runners topped the rustic dark wood farm tables for a truly relaxed reception vibe. Everything was simple, but elegant, and allowed friends and family to focus on great food & drinks rather than decorations.
McKenna recalled “The garden and pavilion are positively gorgeous, and CJ’s Off the Square offers myriad of options on how best to make use of the space based upon your unique needs. The food was incredible across the board (especially our wedding cake!). The bar was attentive and quick. And the DJ did an outstanding job. The ambiance throughout both the garden and the pavilion were truly breathtaking!”
The Ceremony
Our DJ took a break so that McKenna and Tom’s dear friend could sing them down the aisle. LOVE! IT was so special and touching …lots of happy tears and HUGE smiles!
The Reception
The couple’s goal for their reception was to have a chic garden party feel and avoid a stuffy dinner. Charcuterie, fruit trays, and cocktails coupled with lots of dancing made for a night to remember!
